5 Pattani men arrested for allegedly posing as cops to extort locals

5 males who had been posing as law enforcement officials in southern Thailand’s Pattani province have been arrested yesterday. The suspects allegedly extorted drug-taking residents or youngsters out of cash or property.
The Yaring police have been alerted that males were portraying themselves as members of the Yaring police at a village in the Laem Pho Subdistrict. The Nation Thailand says the men dressed as police officers and had “armours” with police on the chest. Behind the scenes chose native youngsters or individuals who took narcotics as their extortion victims. The faux police would ask residents if they may inspect their belongings and typically extort them for either cash or property. Police have since arrested the 5 men.
Last month, a Bangkok man was arrested after he allegedly posed as a police officer and raped sex staff over forty instances for a period of 6 months..
